Packing plant
We have a state of the art custom built packing plant for Artichokes.
It consists of the following stages:
Cutting stems
Storing
Sizing
Packing
Palletizing
Pre-cooling
Refrigerated storage
All this has to be done within 1 hour from the picking time. The following are the details of the main steps of packing.
Sorting
This stage is done on special conveyors for inspection of the piece quality. Lower grade piece are sorted out and go to our processing plant.
Packing
Air packing: In carton boxes. — Sea Packing: In plastic boxes. Pallet carry 100 boxes.
Size 1: 6 to 7.5 cm diameter is about 180 to 200 G weight per piece. (30 pieces)
Size 2: 7.5 to 9 cm diameter is about 225 to 250 G weight per piece. (24 pieces)
Size 3: 9 to 11 cm diameter is about 275 to 300 G weight per piece. (20 pieces)
